The FEFRA Foundation & Care.

Founded on a vision to uplift underserved communities and inspired by the belief that resilience begins at home, the FEFRA Foundation emerged as the nonprofit arm of the Family Empowerment and Financial Resilience Act (FEFRA). What started as a policy dream has grown into a grassroots movement, rightly fueled by everyday individuals like yourselves who are hard to lead the charge to protect our families united by a common cause.

With headquarters in Newark, NJ, we serve as a hub for community care, financial support, and long-term empowerment, providing holistic services that support families spiritually, emotionally, and economically.

Our vision is to ensure that our families have access to essential resources and are supported by leadership rooted in love, compassion, accountability, and justice.

Our Mission

FEFRA Foundation & Community Care exists to:

  • Empower families through workforce development, financial support, and community-led initiatives.

  • Provide wraparound services that address real needs—from food and shelter to financial literacy and mental health support.

  • Mobilize community generosity through simple giving—because if every resident of Newark gave just $1, we could fund programs that save lives and transform futures.

  • Advocate for policy change that centers people, justice, and resilience.

In Newark, NJ, where FEFRA was founded, with a growing population is over 317,000 strong, poverty is rising at an alarming rate. Therefore, if each person gave just $1, that’s over $317,000 in life-changing resources, more than enough to:

  • Feed thousands of homeless families

  • Support youth mentorship and after-school programs

  • Cover emergency housing for at-risk mothers, fathers, and their children

  • Build community wealth from within
